I don’t remember if I mentioned it on here, but we took Amelia to Disney on her actual birthday. It was a hit! She had so much fun. All month long we’ve been talking about having a “Mickey Mouse party” on her birthday. So she was really excited to go. But first, we had to drop Jack off at Miriam’s for the day. Unfortunately, Amelia was not very happy that she didn’t get to go play with the kids. She cried until we got back on the expressway.
As for Disney itself, she loved going on the rides, but was terrified of the characters. I thought it would be the other way around. We started with It’s a Small World and just told her we were going on a boat ride. Her look during that ride was priceless. It was sort of a slack jawed wonder. After that ride, every other one we went on was just another boat ride. We went on Peter Pan’s ride, the carousel, the teacups, and Snow White’s scary ride (the only one she was actually scared on).
Then we got brave and took her on Pirates of the Caribbean. Since Jack was a pirate for Halloween, she thought it was cool to go on a ride with pirates (Argh). We were kind of afraid about going on this one, but she loved it. Even the part where it gets dark and the boat you’re in goes down a hill she was fine with. We also took her in the haunted mansion, which she thought was fun too.
She took a little 15 or so minute nap at about 4, but otherwise was very good all day long. She also crashed when we got back in the car on the way to pick up Jack. Here are some pictures from the day.
It’s so hard to take pics at Disney and still enjoy the fun. Therefore, we didn’t actually take that many. But we sure did have a lot of fun.
This is when we first got there:

We waited in line for 1/2 hour to see these darned characters and when we finally got in there, she was terrified of them!

It was a very tiring day (and she hasn’t let that Mickey Mouse out of her sight since we got home):
