Almost 2!! November 26, 2007

Tomorrow my baby girl will be turning 2 years old! I can’t believe it’s been 2 years already. She’s such a big girl now. Today she had her 2 year checkup today and screamed throughout the whole thing. She was so excited that we were going to the doctors until she realized who the doctor was and what he was going to do! But she’s doing fine. She’s 35 1/2 inches and 25 pounds.

And here are some pictures from Thanksgiving and a mini party we had for her on Saturday. We just had her cousins come over.

Here she is at the first annual Cooley pumpkin hunt, lol. Mawmaw found a bunch of pumpkins so Amelia and cousin Lizzy (who is almost 2 years old) went pumpkin hunting… think like Easter egg hunting.

And they’re off:

Opening presents down in Ft. Pierce:

These balloons were her favorite present of all! She went with me to the grocery store to get them and she just about lost her mind when they brought this big bunch of balloons out just for her! She’s just been carrying them around the house and playing with the Dora mermaid balloon!

She loved having everyone sing to her:

Simple, but yummy cake:

She ate a bit of it, but not as much as I thought she would. She was too excited that her cousins were here to play with her.

Then she had a fun time chasing her cousin Emily:

And another one of Mr. Jack for good measure.

My eye November 21, 2007

I totally forgot to update this thing about my surgery. Things went just fine, I suppose. We got to the surgery place at 7:45 and I went back at about 8:30. I probably laid on the bed waiting for about a half hour or so. They had me hooked up to oxygen, heart monitor and blood pressure machines as well as having to stick me with an IV. Then the eye doctor & anesthesiologist (man that’s a hard word to type) came over to my bed and starting do all sorts of things. I remember the eye doctor looking at my eye and drawing on it. Then he told the anesthesiologist to put some stuff in my IV. I remember him doing that and then I think I remember him putting another shot in there. The next thing I knew I was waking up during the surgery. But don’t worry, I was actually supposed to wake up. It was kind of weird having to do that, but they had to kind of sit me up and have me open my eyes so they could check that things were aligned. I kind of half remember them stitching me up and then I was wheeled back to where I started. And we were on the road by 10, so it didn’t take too long.

I was a little wonky for a couple of hours after that, but luckily Marissa (my niece) and Joshua (my nephew) stayed with me to look after the kids. Then at 4, Miriam brought Seth over and took Josh and Marissa back home. Seth stayed until about 9 that night because Daniel had to fly to Boston for a business trip.

The eye is still a bit swollen, but already looks a lot better than it did. I have a follow up appointment on it next week. Here are some pictures of it, but if you have a slightly queasy stomach, don’t look.

Having surgery November 7, 2007

Well, I was supposed to have this eye surgery last year, but um, I kind of got pregnant with a certain cutie pie named Jack. So I’ve finally rescheduled it and am having a lid lift a week from today. I hope things go smoothly and it heals up quite nicely.

It seems like this month is just going to fly by. I’ve got the surgery next week, Thanksgiving the week after that and Amelia’s birthday the next week! I can’t believe my baby is going to be 2! We’re taking her to Disney for her birthday. She’s quite excited to have a birthday party with Mickey Mouse. I think she’ll have a blast.

Here are some pictures of my little cutie pies in their Halloween costumes:

I love this picture. Jack looks like Amelia just told him a big secret!
