It’s scheduled October 31, 2006

Ugh, I’m so mad.  The following post was supposed to have showed up about 2 weeks ago!! Oh well

for November 15. We’ve scheduled the big ultrasound for that date. Hopefully the little one will cooperate and show us his or her goods! Today was a boring appointment. I’m only up to 149 pounds which is pretty good considering the fact that I started the pregnancy with Amelia weighing 150 pounds. I think they might be mad at me though because as of today, I’m 17 weeks, 3 days along and have only gained 4 pounds (I think). But I am working out this time, so I think that has a lot to do with it, because I’m sure not eating very well.

Amelia and I are still working on getting better. She got re-sick over the weekend. We were all set to go to the fall festival at our church on Saturday and just as we were about to put her down for her morning nap, she threw up her little snack bottle. Soooo, we didn’t get to go to that. Then after she woke up from her afternoon nap that day, she had a fever. Plus her cough sounded like it had settled down into her chest. So on Monday, she took a trip to the doctor. And now she has 3 different medicines to take for about 10 days. I hope she gets better soon. She’s still a pretty happy girl even when she is sick…. until I start trying to clean up her snotty gross nose. Then she gets quite UNhappy.

I think we are going to be going to a Halloween thing at our old church tonight. Amelia spent the day with Miriam and the kids (her cousins) while I was at my appointment and they still go to that church and invited us. Should be interesting. Other than that, we’re all doing well here.

Did Amelia do this? October 26, 2006

Something very strange is going on with my computer. Lately, I’ve been letting Amelia sit in my lap and push buttons… innocently, I thought. Well now on some websites (including this one and other blogs), the font is so tiny that I almost can’t read it! I’m having to type this in Word so I can see what I’m typing! If anyone knows how to fix it please let me know.

Oh well, there really hasn’t been much going on around here, unless you count sickness! On Sunday, we drove ourselves to church and when we parked, we realized that Amelia had thrown up on herself. So we had to turn around and come home. Turns out she threw up 3 more times that day. But by Monday, she was back to normal. Then during the night Monday, I was up about 10 times with the runs (they don’t call it the runs for nothing). And during that day, I think Amelia got sick on that end too. We’re doing better now….hopefully.

This weekend, our church is having a fall festival, so we’ll be going to that. I think it will be fun, especially for Amelia.

Other than that, there really isn’t anything going on. I’m still pregnant and have another appointment next week. I’ll make sure to update then.

Just a bunch of nothing October 18, 2006

Nothing really important going on here.  Except maybe that Daniel isn’t allowed to babysit Amelia anymore.  On Monday, I had a chiropractor appointment at 9 in the morning and I couldn’t find anyone to watch Amelia, so he stayed home with her before going to work. When I got home, they were sitting on the couch and Amelia was in Daniel’s lap. Now, if you know Amelia, she just doesn’t sit in anyone’s lap for the sake of sitting there, so I was wondering what was going on. Apparently she was playing in the living room and fell and hit her head on the chest/coffee table that’s in there. She had a pretty good welt on her forehead.  But she was fine.

Then later that afternoon as Amelia and I were heading out to run some errands, I realized that I didn’t have my car keys. Daniel had picked them up when he left thinking they were his.  So he came home from work early to give them to me. Normally it wouldn’t have been a problem, but I had to get to the post office to mail out our tax return b/c that was the deadline (yes, we always file our tax returns this late… the joys of living with a CPA).  So Daniel stayed home with Amelia while I went to the po and grocery shopping.

When I came home, Daniel had another story to tell me. He had been playing his video game when Amelia decided to wander off through the house, which is not unusual for her. Well, after a couple of minutes, he realized that it was way too quiet, so he went looking for her. Just as he did, she came marching out of our bedroom holding the toilet brush in her hand like she was in a marching band. Oh boy. When he went into our bathroom, he found that she had dumped the garbage can over and unrolled about half of the roll of toilet paper.  This little thing can make the biggest messes I’ve ever seen!!

Nothing much else is going on here. I’m still pregnant and I still don’t really feel pregnant. That should change pretty soon though. The belly is slowly getting bigger, although I’m still able to fit into my fat jeans and haven’t resorted to maternity clothes yet. I have another doctor’s appointment at the end of the month. I think it will be early December before we’ll be able to find out what we’re having though. Maybe at this coming appointment, I’ll be able to schedule that ultrasound.  We’ll see.

Update on Amelia October 13, 2006

I just enjoy watching grow every day and sometimes I forget to document all of the things she’s doing now, so I thought I’d do that here.

She is such a jabber-jaw. When she wakes up every morning, she wakes up jabbering. I hear her over the monitor and usually listen to her for about 10 minutes while I, myself, try to slowly wake up.  She usually wakes up at 7 am, but this morning she slept until 7:50. I almost went and checked on her b/c she hasn’t slept that long in quite a while. Even after I go get her in the morning, she continues to chatter… all thru breakfast, after breakfast while she plays for a bit, and on and on through the day.  Most of anyone who reads this, has seen the video of her talking on the phone.  I promise that I don’t talk on the phone that much. Actually I make most of my phone calls when she’s sleeping b/c whenever I get on the phone, she always starts talking or yelling really loud and I can barely hear.

There’s this Volvo commercial airing right now that shows this dad buckling his young daughter into her car seat.  The whole time he’s buckling and then driving, she’s telling one of those never ending stories where it seems like she doesn’t even take a breath.  I’m very afraid that that is my future!!

Another thing she’s doing now is pointing at things. I guess we must have pointed at a lot of stuff and she’s doing the same thing now.  It’s very cute until she starts pointing at strangers out in public.  I guess we need to teach her some non-rude cute things!

She’s also walking all over the place! She’s still a bit unsteady and will fall down a good bit, but she’s getting better and better every day.

All in all, she’s such a sweet little girl and I can’t wait to see how she grows in the months and years to come!

Sheesh October 11, 2006

I didn’t realize it had been that long since I wrote in this thing. We went to Ft. Pierce this past weekend to celebrate Daniel’s Dad’s church’s 30 Anniversary!  It was also his Dad’s anniversary of being at the church b/c he’s the one who started it!  The church surprised his Mom & Dad with a gift of an Alaskan cruise. They’ve always wanted to go on one and now they don’t have an excuse! Amelia did really well when we were there.  She got into everything!! On Saturday, she crawled all over their deck and on Sunday morning she woke up with red bumps on her legs.  We figured that she got a ton of little splinters in her legs from crawling on the deck. She didn’t seem bothered by them and they are gone now.

Amelia and I went to the library today for story and nursery rhyme time.  She was a little fidgety, but did pretty well, especially considering that it was really close to her nap time. We came home and she fell asleep while I was giving her a little bottle.

Scrap Survivor is going well. The past couple of weeks a member on our tribe hasn’t finished their project for the week, so we didn’t even have to vote anyone off. I really need to get started on this week’s project but can’t seem to get in gear!
