Rachel’s Ramblings

Just another Wordpress.com weblog

So long August 31, 2006

It has been quite a while since I posted here! Bad blogger.  Oh, well, I’m over it now.  But even with that long span of time between posts, I still don’t have much to report!!

Amelia had her 9 month check up this past Monday. I can’t believe she’s already 9 months old!! Anyway, she did great. They pricked her toe to take blood to test her iron and she didn’t even cry.  But her iron is low, so she’s on vitamins for that.  The only time she cried was when the doctor made her do something she didn’t want to do, which was hold still while he checked her ears and nose.  She weighed 20 pounds even and was about 29 inches long.  She’s dropped to the 75th percentile for weight, but is in the 90th-something percentile for height!  Where did that come from?? Neither of us are what you would exactly call statuesque!!

Today we had Amelia’s pictures professionally taken!! It was her first time for that.  I’ve taken them all the other times. We went to Target to have them done and she was just an angel! She smiled for every single one and the lady just loved her.  I’m supposed to be getting an email with the pictures so I can post them here I hope.

Other than that, nothing much is going on.  I’ve got another OB appointment this coming Tuesday and we have our first sonogram on Thursday.  Should be interesting.

The Big Announcement August 18, 2006

Well we went to the doctor yesterday and they confirmed what I already knew…. we are pregnant again!!!!

I am due on April 8, but we are having a sonogram in a couple of weeks to possibly adjust that.  And since I’ll be having another c-section, I’ll actually deliver a week before my due date to prevent me from possibly going into labor.

So that’s what’s going on around here.  I’m not sick or tired or any of the normal pregnant stuff.  Which is nice, of course.  But I’m sure that in about February or so, I’ll get my swollen feet back.

Same old thing August 14, 2006

That would be nothing! Just a regular Monday around here.  Monday is the only weekday that I don’t work out at the Y.  I think I wrote about it earlier, but I just don’t like the instructor on Monday, so I’ve stopped going. Plus it’s kind of nice to have a day off from it. So during Monday mornings, Amelia and I just hang out. Then when she wakes up from her morning nap, we go to eat lunch, have the pool water tested and get groceries.  I bot lots of macaroni and cheese today because Amelia is starting to eat “big people” food! She got her second tooth last week and has mastered the art of gumming just about anything that one could gum.

Just this past week, she’s been kind of erratic with her nap schedule.  It used to be that she would only last about 3 hours between naps before she’d be ready for another one.  Well now she’s going about 4 hours between them and it’s throwing off her whole napping schedule.  I hope we can settle into a new schedule here soon.

Postponed August 8, 2006

Well, my eye surgery has been postponed.  It will still be happening, just not tomorrow. I’ll post on here next week when I’ll be having it.

Other than that, there is really nothing going on around here.  I’m not quite sure why I started a blog when I don’t have anything going on enough to fill it up. Oh well.

I finished up this layout last week.  It’s pretty cute, if I do say so myself.

Real Story

Well, maybe something will happen that I can write about soon.  We’ll see.

Misc Thoughts August 2, 2006

I’m so bad about coming up with a title for each post.  There’s nothing really to write about, but thought I would anyway.

I did my first 8 1/2 x 11 layout last night.  I’m pretty pleased with how it came out.  I feel like I should add something to it, but I think that is my obsessive self coming out.  Here it is:

I do like the journaling that I included in it. I don’t think you can read the journaling very well in the picture, so here it is:

Adorable baby girl: Check

Cute little Easter dress: CheckBlack background: CheckVibrant prop flower: CheckThe cutest feet poking out: Double Check!!

One of the first things I noticed about this picture was your very CUTE FEET

Now, don’t get me wrong, your dress is too cute for words. And what about those beautiful blue eyes that make perfect strangers stop in their tracks. And then there are those perfectly pinchable cheeks – and they’re perfectly kissable too. But I have always loved baby’s feet. They are so adorably chubby and cute! And since they belong to you, they are all the more adorable.

On another note, I noticed a sore on the underside of Amelia’s tongue today.  Oh man, I hope she doesn’t get my canker sores!! They are horrible!

Tomorrow Amelia is going to go to my Rick’s house so the kids can play with her.  And I’m going shopping!!  Exciting.  I love her, you know, but she doesn’t make for the best clothes shopping partner. :)

Well that’s all from here. Gotta change a stinky diaper.
